The Paso Robles Pioneer Museum is a wonderful collection of visual and written history. It is our mission to preserve the cultural heritage  of California's Paso Robles area through well-organized  and detailed displays, historical literature and education. In documenting and explaining the past, we are helping to retain the values that are foundational to our future. We host a number of events, including the annual PASO GATHERING which features Western artists and artisans.   If you have a class, club or group that would like a  narrated tour of the museum, we are happy to conduct special tours for you almost any time.  To make arrangements call us at 805 239-4556 CLICK HERE TO TOUR THE MUSEUM ONLINE   Paso Robles, a book of images in the Images of  America series by Arcadia Publishing Company, has  just been released. The 128-page book has more  than 200 images of Paso Robles' rich heritage,  beginning with the 125-room grand hotel  completed in 1891, for which the little town became well-known. Tourists came to the little community  for the healing waters of the mineral springs and  mud baths. There was steady development after 1886  when the railroad arrived and town lots were auctioned.  Area homesteaders raised cattle, grew grain, and  planted fruit, walnut, and almond orchards. Paso Robles books are available at the Pioneer  Museum with proceeds from sales benefiting the  nonprofit museum. The books sell for $21, including  California sales tax.
